Kindle Unlimited books that you should be reading and listening now

Being able to read Harry Potter Kindle books was one of the main reasons why I joined Amazon Prime back in 2013. I loved it because I was able to borrow a Harry Potter ebook – or any other eligible Kindle book – each month for free with Kindle Owners’ Lending Library.

So, imagine my unpleasant surprise to find out that Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and the other six Harry Potter books have been excluded from Kindle Owners’ Lending Library (Amazon Prime) and they are now included with Kindle Unlimited. It is not fair, Amazon!

Perhaps it is now time to take a closer look at what Kindle Unlimited has to offer since its release back in July 2014. Kindle unlimited enables you to explore over 1 million titles and thousands of audiobooks on any device for just $9.99 a month.

As of today, January 8th, 2016 you can dive into 1.187.975 titles of various genres, and 3.627 of them come with free narrated Audible audiobook. So, whenever you see “Kindle Unlimited with Narration,” you can switch seamlessly between reading and listening. The followings are my favorites:

Kindle Unlimited books that you should be reading and listening now - Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Book 4)

1. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Book 4)

The Triwizard Tournament is to be held at Hogwarts. Only wizards who are over seventeen are allowed to enter – but that doesn’t stop Harry dreaming that he will win the competition. Then at Hallowe’en, when the Goblet of Fire makes its selection, Harry is amazed to find his name is one of those that the magical cup picks out. He will face death-defying tasks, dragons and Dark wizards, but with the help of his best friends, Ron and Hermione, he might just make it through – alive!

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Book 4) and the other six of Harry Potter Kindle books are included with Kindle Unlimited. The Audible narrations are sold separately from $29.99 to $44.99, or buy with Audible Gold Membership.

It’s a new school year, and Greg Heffley finds himself thrust into middle school, where undersized weaklings share the hallways with kids who are taller, meaner, and already shaving. The hazards of growing up before you’re ready are uniquely revealed through words and drawings as Greg records them in his diary.

Four books of Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Rodrick Rules, The Last Straw and Dog Days are included with Kindle Unlimited. The Audible narrations are sold separately from $3.99 to $7.49, or buy with Audible Gold Membership.

Kindle Unlimited books that you should be reading and listening now - The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood

4. The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood

The story is told through the eyes of Offred, one of the unfortunate Handmaids under the new social order. In condensed but eloquent prose, by turns cool-eyed, tender, despairing, passionate, and wry, she reveals to us the dark corners behind the establishment’s calm facade, as certain tendencies now in existence are carried to their logical conclusions.

The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood is included with Kindle Unlimited both for reading and listening.
